Kiwanis Club of Rockville
Celebrating 62 Years of Volunteer Service to Our Community
...and STILL GOING STRONG!

From the Desk of the President

Stacey D. Miller

President 2010-2012

The Kiwanis Club of Rockville is a volunteer group of women and men who are dedicated to the needs of children and young adults on a local, national and international scale. Kiwanis clubs are organized throughout the United States and worldwide as part of a global network to share ideas and resources for the improvement of communities.

Kiwanis International is a dynamic organization which provides its members the opportunity for personal and professional growth through community involvement and interaction. Each Kiwanis club chooses its own service projects to address community needs. Service projects include promoting literacy, sponsoring higher education for disadvantaged students, and assisting with and funding events for needy children.

Kiwanis Clubs also sponsor Service Leadership Programs: Circle K Clubs for college students, Key Clubs in high schools, Builders Clubs in middle schools and K-Kids Clubs in elementary schools. The Kiwanis Club of Rockville sponsors six of these Service Leadership Clubs. The K-Kids Club of College Gardens Elementary School in Rockville, The Builders Club of Christ Episcopal School in Rockville, the Key Club of Rockville High School, the Key Club of Magruder High School in Rockville, the Key Club of Wootton High School in Rockville and the Key Club of Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville provide youth with opportunities to develop leadership and learn the value of volunteering. The Rockville Kiwanis Club also sponsors high school sophomores in the Hugh O'Brian Youth (HOBY) Maryland Leadership Program and high school students in the Kiwanis Key Leader Program every year. All of these students represent the leaders of the future for Kiwanis and our community.

The Kiwanis Club of Rockville provides hands-on community service activities each month to local non-profit organizations. Club members also carry out various fund raising activities to support community service projects as well as specific charities. This website highlights our Club History since we were chartered in 1950, and some of the Volunteer Service Projects, Programs and Activities to which Rockville Kiwanis members devote their time and energy, then and now.

If you would be interested in joining our organization and helping with our projects, programs and activities, please contact us at KiwanisRockville@gmail.com. Thank you.

Yours truly,
